Integration
The SMA_RT back-office
API allows application programs to pass relevant data to the Back-office
processor.
For
example:
A major financial institution has a funds transfer application running under
CICS.
The application creates a log entry whenever a transfer exceeds $10 million
and they would like to be able to feed that log record into the SMA_RT
back-office API for delivery to an external log concentrator. The process
could be accomplished by a simple change within the application program on
the mainframe. The application program could set up the record, link to the
API and test for return code “0”. If the return code is zero, the process has
completed successfully. Any other return codes indicate that SMA_RT is not
active at this time.
